Description: The University of Iowa is presently looking of CERTIFIED RN ANESTHETIST/SUP right now, this job will be assigned in Iowa. Percent Time: 100% Type of Position Regular: A position which is considered essential for the effective long-term operation of the university. Persons appointed to this position will receive! the privileges and benefits associated with regular employment status. Duties:

• Perform clinical anesthesia duties as assigned by the Anesthesia Clinical Director or designee, including assigned call at night, on weekends and holidays.
• To assist faculty physicians in providing for educational needs of residents, medical students and nurse anesthesia students.
• To attend continuing education conferences and seminars in order to maintain biannual re-certification through the Council on Re-certification of Nurse Anesthetists, the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
• To assist in quality improvement activities as designated by the Department Head or designee.
• To share responsibilities of all Department members regarding equipment and supplies, their maintenance and proper use.
• Models and promotes systems change across campus to promote professional conduct and behavior of the highest integrity, exhibiting utmost re! spect for all members of the University community; demonstrate! s consistency of action purpose with unquestionable forthrightness.
• Establishes policies and programs that demonstrate a commitment to an inclusive environment that attracts and retains a diverse workforce and nurtures a culture where every employee feels valued and is able to function at his/her best. Assures that all leaders are accountable for developing and maintaining a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• Communicates expectations and provides support and resources that are in alignment with the vision and strategic planning of the University to foster creativity and innovation in the workplace.
• Creates a culture of continuous learning through strategic planning, shared governance, innovative best practices, and the promotion of knowledge development; provides resources for and establishes expectations that managers and supervisors will act as stewards of employees’ professional development.

Education Required:

Nursing education leading to status of R.N., Bachelors Degree or equivalent.

Special education in Anesthesia which has led to accreditation as a CRNA.

Experience Required:

• Demonstrated job-related experience with and/or commitment to diversity in the work/academic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Certifications:

• Current license to practice in Iowa. Desirable Qualifications:
• Prior experience in the delivery of anesthesia services as a member of an anesthesia care team.
• M.S. in Nursing or related field.

Verifiable experience as a functional team member in a medical team environment.
