Pay Scale Information: USD $35,984.00 - USD $59,082.40

It’s Work That Matters.
Position Summary: Under moderate supervision, performs clerical tasks associated with scheduling, verifying patient appointments, registration, check-in/out procedures, financial clearance, referrals and cashiering duties. Coordinates ancillary services, consultations, and referrals ordered for patients. Knowledgeable in pre-certification/authorization processes and requirements. (Secures authorizations for clinic visits, office procedures and ancillary orders). Answers and screens incoming calls, takes and relays messages to clinicians. We would like to have someone with front office medical background experience who takes initiative and is proactive. Can adapt to changes/can manage busy days in clinic and is a good communicator. Has Knowledge in navigating with health plans. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position will require traveling to all CHLA clinics- Hours may vary depending on assignments
Minimum Qualifications: 3+ year experience in medical front office setting. Previous experience in float pool setting preferred.
- MUST be willing to travel to all clinics (i.e. Arcadia, Santa Monica, South Bay, Encino, Hollywood, Wilshire)
- Must have experience with insurance eligibility (HMO, PPO, MediCal, TriCare) verification and authorization
- Must be professional, have good phone etiquette and customer service in the healthcare environment, front desk office setting
- In depth knowledge of major insurance plans and types of coverage provided, including government health programs
- Experience working in the medical field: front office
- Must be highly flexible, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently under pressure and work efficiently in a team environment
- Knowledge and experience in navigating with healthcare plans
- Ability to multitask
- Bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
