Under the direction and supervision of the department director, surgeons, and other attending physicians, performs clinical CRNA duties and! is responsible for prescribing substances or devices, including controlled substance or devices, to either relieve pain or manage conscious or unconscious sedation to patients undergoing surgical procedure. Adheres to the principles of Service Care and the philosophy and mission of Mercy in all aspects of job performance.
Qualifications:
1. Requires national certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists Council (AANA) as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
2. Requires Registered Nurse and (ARNP) Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist License maintaining current license to work in the state of Iowa.
3. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) is required unless doctor’s release is provided, in which case yearly proficiency must be demonstrated through oral and written testing.
4. Is knowledgeable of a variety of different types of equipment and functions in the realm of clinical acuity to diagnostic perform! ance of various laboratory tests.
