Team Leader - Technical and Laboratory Support [Australia]


 

The Health Sciences and Community team at Swinburne University of Technology are looking for a Team Leader - Technical and Laboratory Support to join their team.

This role is responsible for overseeing the supervision of the science and nursing technical staff and laboratories in the HSC, including the KIOSC laboratory. In this role, the successful applicant will supervise a range of technical staff, coordinate, and manage projects associated with laboratory renovations, provide advice to Facilities and Services Group for major capital works and ensuring that the provision of security services meets the needs of the faculty.

As this role is a team leader position, the successful candidate will be expected to bring with them a high level of relationship management and a collaborative approach to their work. The Team Leader – Technical and Laboratory Support will also have a minimum of 1 year experience working in a laboratory and have experience as a laboratory supervisor or manager.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Experience in a technical supervision role requiring the maintenance and use of technical equipment and the ability to plan, coordinate, supervise, monitor and evaluate
  • Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive and efficient technical support and training to internal and external stakeholders including students
  • Experience in procedure development and implementation, and the interpretation of policy and procedure
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems including adapting work practices and continuous improvement

Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field such as the sciences, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
