- Job Description
1、Assisting the surveyor in all surveying operations including setting up equipment and instruments, and recording data.
2、Carrying and holding the measuring instruments, and helping to measure distances and angles.
3、Ensuring that survey equipment is properly maintained and stored.
4、Clearing brush and debris from the survey area and using hand tools as needed.
5、Working with the surveyor to establish and mark survey points, boundaries, and reference lines.
6、Recording data and measurements accurately and legibly.
7、Communicating with other members of the surveying team, including surveyors and instrument operators.
8、Following safety procedures and protocols at all times.
9、Assisting in the preparation of survey reports and plans.
10、Performing other duties as assigned by the surveyor.
Overall, a Surveying Chainman plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and reliable survey data, and in supporting the surveyor and the survey team in all aspects of the surveying process.

Requirements
1、Education and Training: High school diploma or equivalent is usually required. On-the-job training is provided.
2、Knowledge and Skills: Ability to operate and maintain surveying instruments and equipment, understand surveying terminology and methods, perform mathematical calculations, and follow instructions.
3、Physical Requirements: Good physical fitness, as the job may require standing, walking, and carrying equipment for extended periods of time, as well as working in varying weather conditions.
4、Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients.
5、Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented to ensure accurate measurements and data collection.
6、Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
7、Safety: Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of oneself and team members on job sites.
8、Driver’s License: Possession of a valid driver’s license is often required, as travel to job sites may be necessary.
