Lakeland Cosmetics have an exciting opportunity due to expansion for a Machine Operator/ Line Setter to join our team based in Workington, Cumbria

Job duties:
- Set up and make adjustments of machines/filling lines
- Assemble and pack goods to meet the production target rate
- Adapt to all lines, jobs and speeds required across all the different machinery within the business
- Communicate your knowledge and show your skills to all new and existing team members; by applying various skills across lines such as application of caps, labelling, collating bottles on and off lines, batch coding, assembly of decorative cartons, shrink wrapping and tamper label application.
- Perform on line quality control checks, complete all quality control paperwork and verify rejects from the line and daily reporting of production output
- Complete all packing lists and paperwork in full within the time frame required
- Be in charge of the production line and give orders to other people working on the line
Assist the Team Leader with:
- Interpret specifications and job orders to workers
- Achieve optimum line output and line efficiencies
- Ensure the assembly of finished goods is to the specification and quality standards
- Maintain good housekeeping at all times within your area
- Helping in other areas to ensure high standards are maintained
- Communicate with the team leader in order to understand operational targets
- Communicate any operational shortfalls immediately and directly to your superiors and ensure that any equipment faults or failures are highlighted immediately
- Ability to run all areas of the filling operation
- Adapt to any job given by your superiors
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Be able to setup machines to a very high standard and work under pressure
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills to follow strict instructions and communicate with colleagues
- High levels of attention to detail
- Good statistical and numerical ability
- Be able to work in a team and give instructions to other team members working on your production line
Salary: Starting at £24,000 per year going upto £30,000 once fully trained up.
