We are Horticulture company VK Contracting limited in Hawkes Bay looking for multiple Field/Client Managers, horticulture mobile plant operators and horticulture supervisors to join our company. The roles are on permanent and Ongoing basis. The roles will be based in Hawkes Bay Region. Pay rate will be between 29 to 32 per hour. The work will be rostered between Monday to Sunday guaranteed for 30 hours per week.
Job Description
- Position: Client/Field Manager
Purpose:
- Managing the operation of all staff, achieving financial and overall service performance targets.
- Compliance with all healthy and safety standards and protocols.
- Maintain and grow revenue in both existing and new markets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly and e&ctively with growers and workers
- Analyze clients requirements and develop strategic plans for current and future needs
- Select appropriate workers for specific sites and recruit additional workers ounide our
Determine staff requirements and recruit accordingly
- Organist pre-employment and employment documents for field staff
- Visit and assess work sites prior to any commencement of contracts Identify and resolve problems at work sites
- Ensure that work sites are safe and all health and safety requirements are met at all times Conduct regular site inspections
- Ensure the well-being and pastoral care of all staff(transport and accommodation)
- Take appropriate actions following workplace accidents or injuries
- Ensure workers receive appropriate training
- Ensure all compliance to RSE program and immigration requirements are met
- Identify new business opportunities and potential clients for further growth and development
- Review services to clients and assess client feedback to develop ways to improve customer service and
Address queries regarding contract rates, pays lips and payment disputes
Monitor staff performance and take disciplinary action if required
Manage all administrative requirements to meet contractual obligations and business planning targets
- Responsible for quality control and consistency in standard of service provided by staff
2. Horticulture Mobile plant operators
Duties and tasks
- Ensuring the maintenance of the equipment and machinery
- Operating tractors in farms
- Orchard maintenance tasks such as mowing, mulching,
- Orchard pest and weed control by operating equipment
- Transportation of bins/crates for harvesting the crop
- Ensuring the harvest/orchard machinery is in working order
- Execute Spray program and plant nutritional program by relevant machinery
- Follow health and safety guidelines of the company
- Keeping logs and time records
- Maintain the maintenance records
- Ensuring the bins are transported efficiently for smooth harvest of crops
- Horticulture Supervisor
Duties and tasks
- Supervision, training of orchard and field staff
- Responsible for worker performance and work quality
- Preparing timesheets and work records
- Responsible for general health and safety compliance in orchards
- Induction of staff and helping with recruitment
- Transportation of staff
- Staff performance and productivity reports
- Accident and incident management
- Attending staff meeting as required.
All job requirements
Previous farming/horticulture experience is desirable but not mandatory as full on-job training will be provided., ability to pass drug test. Applicants need to be reliable, punctual, and hard-working.
