We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced supervisor to join us at Maxwell's Bar and Grill!
Based in the iconic Covent Garden, we are a high volume and extremely energetic venue famous for our Burgers, Freakshakes and outstanding hospitality.
Being a family friendly restaurant in the day and a cocktail hotspot at night our ideal candidate will have excellent people skills and be able to quickly adapt to different situations.
On Shift Responsibilities
- To deliver a motivational brief to the team each day, incorporating product training, information about VIP or large group bookings, and day focuses
- To maintain high cleanliness and organizational standards in the venue with a focus on presentation of our staff members, venue, and product.
- Reward and recognize your team members hitting targets, pushing incentives, going above and beyond for their guests, and following the SOS, through positive reinforcement.
- To work with positive and proactive attitude and encourage others to follow.
- Lead by example with regards to attitude and behaviors that you exhibit on shift.
- To understand wage percentage and how to appropriately manage wage percentage from day to day
- To be passionate about Maxwell’s and our product.
- To promote a sense of urgency on the floor
- To deliver on shift coaching and feedback to your team
- Must be able to run and take ownership of all restaurant needs and requirements in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.
- Be aware of the atmosphere in the venue and enhance the atmosphere through light and sound
- To take responsibility for all shift related guest and staff issues as and when they arise.
- Report any complaints, accidents, and or incidents in the end of night reporting or accident report books.
- Encourage and monitor staff incentives and post updates to motivate the staff.
- To ensure the safety of staff and guests on site
- To approach any tables who have expressed any level of dissatisfaction with service or product and address this issue in the most affective manner.
- To ensure our Allergy Protocol is adhered to by all staff members
- To liaise with the kitchen with regards to incorrect or unsatisfactory food items.
Back of House
- Cash up
- Write end of night reports based on facts pulled from Opentable and Kobas
- To complete Door Reports (end of night data entry exported from OpenTable)
- To write Brief sheets for the week with focuses for the venue, and section and break plans
- To assist in placing and orders when instructed to do so by the Restaurant Manager
Training & Development:
- To support the development of all staff members within your team so that they can achieve their best performance on every shift
- To be open to receiving constructive criticism, feedback on your performance, and on-shift coaching.
- Attend all training’s organized by the Restaurant Manager, and record staff attendance.
- To assist in constructing detailed and structure session plans for training sessions for your team.
- To follow training sessions with staff tests to measure the retention of information delivered on the training session
- To be trained and capable to cover all roles within the venue should the need arise.
- To attend management meetings and to attend any department meetings organized by the Restaurant Manager
Recruitment:
- To be consistently updating the Restaurant manager with any recruitment needs that are relevant to your department, whilst being mindful of wage percentage.
- To regularly refresh and post job advertisements
- To assist the Restaurant Manager with CV and telephone screening of candidates that you would like to go to in-person interview / trial shift.
- To ensure all trial evaluation forms are filled out and scanned across to upper management.
- To make sure that the induction plans that are organized by the Restaurant Manager are adhered to and all training sessions are covered.
- To ensure that your department’s family tree is kept up to date
- To be witness for the Restaurant Manager should they need to embark on any disciplinary procedures with any of your team members
Health & Safety:
- Must fully understand and be able to explain to other member of the floor team our licensing rules with regards to under 18’s and Challenge 21.
- Must fully understand and be able to explain to other member of the floor team our in-house allergy procedure.
- Must fully understand and be able to explain to other member of the floor team our fire evacuation procedure.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
